Jess Geoghan

Jess is a Brighton based dance artist who has been working in youth arts in Brighton for twelve years. She  was awarded a  BA(hons) degree  in Dance at the University of Chichester in 2008, where she focussed on teaching technique, improvisation and community arts. Jess has wealth of experience teaching and facilitating workshops in schools and youth groups in East Sussex, and undertook training with Chickenshed as part of Brightonshed's first project "...Threads...". She has worked for South East Dance and Brighton and Hove Performing Arts, teaching their Youth Company Cre8crew and supporting young people with additional needs as part of Young Movers. Jess  and has also performed in and devised work for the Brighton Fringe, and toured work at Glastonbury Festival with the Carrot Collective. Jess came on board with Brightonshed during its conception in 2009 and took on the role of Artistic Director in 2016. Her passion  to see a fully inclusive theatre company in Brighton is finally being realised in Brightonshed.

Rob Hopkins

Rob graduated from Southern Theatre Arts Centre in 2014 with a BA Hons in Theatre Arts. Rob's main focus is dance, through his dance training Rob has been lucky enough to perform at exciting venues such as Disneyland Paris and Move It dance exhibition. Rob is also part of Kompact Cabaret, a theatre company based in Worthing who focus mainly on showcasing new pieces of contemporary musical theatre for audiences around Sussex. From graduating Rob began 1:1 sessions for young people with additional needs, one of the sessions being BrightonShed! A year and a half later Rob is still with us using his theatre training to come up with new and exciting dance routines for our up coming performances.

James Dunbar

James is the original founder of Brightonshed, having been a student at Chickeshed since childhood he had a wealth of knowledge in inclusive arts practice and led Brightonshed from 2009-20014. James is now Artistic Director for Chickenshed Kensington and Chelsea, he continues to support Brightonshed, bringing his experience and guidance to the team.
